Danube Building Materials opened its first showroom in Qatar on Tuesday.

The new $13m showroom is located in Qatar’s Industrial Area, and is the latest addition to Danube's network of outlets around the GCC. Danube now has 29 branches throughout the region following the opening of showrooms in Sharjah and Fujairah, and the company says it has plans for 15 more by 2012.

H.E. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani, vice-chairman, Al Faisal Holding, said at the inauguration event: “The opening could not have been at a better time as the country is currently witnessing an increase in major construction projects. These projects largely demand a supplier who can provide them with top quality building materials, something that the Danube Building Materials retail units are widely known for. We wish them success and welcome them as an integral part in the country’s move to prepare for the FIFA World Cup games in 2022.”

Rizwan Sajan, Founder & Chairman, Danube Building Materials added, “We are eyeing to participate in this expected increased number of projects, which complements our goal to expand our client base in Qatar, during this period of important development and growth. Rest assured that we will continue to live up to our reputation as a key provider of world class high quality building materials to major projects in the region.”
