Damac Properties plans to launch the tender for the main contract on its Damac Tower project in Beirut, “within the next 30 days”, according to the developer’s communications chief.
The 28-storey tower, launched last year, is the first collaboration between the developer and Italian fashion house Versace, and will be the first structure to be built in Solidiere Beirut, a new area under development in the Lebanese capital.
The tower will contain one- to four-bedroom apartments, multi-level parking, health club facilities and Smart Home technology inside.
“Damac is at the final stages of arranging the main contract and we should be ready in the next 30 days,” Niall McLoughlin, senior vice president of corporate communications said, adding that there are always details to finalise with the relevant authorities. “All piling work and excavation has been completed.”

The company hired Zetas Apex Foundation Technologies SAL to complete the enabling work last year.
Dubai-based Damac Properties has projects throughout the Gulf region as well as Egypt and the Levant. In 2009 the company launched its first project in Saudi Arabia, the Al Jawharah Tower on Jeddah’s Corniche. The top ten floors of the structure will be occupied by Versace’s luxury apartments.
McLoughlin added that Al Jawharah Tower is nearing the top of the podium, where a health club will be situated, following the completion of foundation work in February. The construction work is undertaken by a joint venture of International Centre for Contracting, a Saudi contractor, and Drake & Scull Construction, the umbrella company for all of the civil work carried out by the Dubai-based Drake & Scull International outside the UAE.
