Palm Jumeirah’s Golden Mile and the Torch tower in Dubai Marina have become the latest to sign up to the MyCommunity online portal, taking the number of property owners and tenants using the online property management tool up to 5000.
The MyCommunity system was launched by international software firm Mystrata in January of this year. It allows all those involved within a real estate community to interact with each other for a more streamlined property management process.
David Bugden, CEO of Mystrata, said, “With the introduction of the jointly owned property laws in Dubai and soon Abu Dhabi, people now have a right to know where their money is being spent. MyCommunity helps to deliver that transparency and at the same time gives residents a voice and enables them to interact with each other.

Through the portal, users are able to raise maintenance requests, view service charge information, access financial reports, pay bills and print invoices. Access levels are based on the user’s role within the community – whether he/she is a tenant or owner – and they are controlled by the owner’s association manager.
“MyCommunity [...] seamlessly integrates with our main product offering, an online management and accounting system used by professional property managers, meaning users can log-on anywhere in the world to access financial data, reports and community information,” said Bugden.
He explained that new clients were signing up all the time, and existing OAM companies that were already familiar with the software, such as Novus for Golden Mile and Kingfield for Torch, were signing up for other towers they were managing, following their experience with the software.
Asteco Property Management, has been using the Mystrata technology for over four years. John Stevens, director, said, “the launch of MyCommunity to our clients will deliver much needed transparency about the management of their properties and it is a welcome addition.”
