Prizes are up for grabs for Sharjah residents who recycle using Bee’ah’s brand new recyclables reverse-vending machine.
The machines, which will be showcased at the Green Middle East expo in October, will be placed in high footfall areas across Sharjah, encouraging residents to deposit empty bottles and cans.
“Increasing our community’s participation in recycling is a key objective for us at Bee’ah. We are delighted to be the first to introduce this very new and innovative system, where people are encouraged and rewarded for their good actions which benefit both their environment and the city of Sharjah,” said Khaled Al Huraimel, Chief Executive Officer at Bee’ah.
Residents will earn points as they recycle more, based on the number of bottles and cans deposited in the machines.
Walid Zabaneh, Vice President, Business Development & Strategy said: We already know that 30% of the residents in the emirate of Sharjah are willing to recycle but require simple and easy tools to facilitate doing so.
"The reverse vending machine is one of the many recycling touch points which Bee’ah is introducing to help our society reduce the ever growing size of our landfills, and contributes to a better, cleaner and greener UAE environment and help the economy by putting recyclable material back into the economic cycle.”
