It is crucial for FMs to sharpen their skills in order to benefit the industry, says Assem Al-Hajj, academic head, school of built environment, Heriot-Watt University.
Though the MSc course is offered to anyone from graduate level to postgrad, FMs already working in the industry benefit the most from further education, according to Al-Hajj.
“I strongly advise people in the industry to come and take the course,” he said. “Our students on the course are FM managers, senior FM managers - even they feel the need to come and do the course. They value and know the course is good, also they contribute a lot to the course. We deal with professionals who appreciate the value of the course.”
“It’s important for them to come and do the course, sharpen their skills and understand what the profession is and take it from there,” he added.
