Oman is expanding its tourism infrastructure to attract 12m visitors by 2020.

Two contracts worth $62.3m have been awarded to Omran by the Oman Tender Board for construction of the Khasab Hotel in the Governorate of Musandam and a hotel in Jebel Akhdar in the Governorate of Al Dakhliyah.
"With the nation's drive to boost tourism by attracting 12m visitors before 2020, it is crucial that we build sufficient infrastructure to ensure that additional hospitality venues are available in key destinations outside Muscat to meet this anticipated growth," said Omran chairman HE Nasser bin Khamis al Jashmi.
Khasab Hotel is planned to be built on a reclaimed peninsula designated for tourism and commercial developments. The location of the hotel will be near the centre of the town and the local port.

The site will overlook the sea and feature 110 rooms, including suites, studios and duplexes, in addition to studio rooms for people with special needs.
Operated by the Singapore-based hotel chain, Alila, the Jebel Akhdar Hotel is envisioned to become a luxury spa development. It will feature 86 suites and world-class spa suites, along with a cliff-side restaurant and pool.
