The Qatar General Electricity and Water Cooperation (Kahramaa) has held a meeting with local electricity contractors to familiarise them with upcoming tenders in 2012.
Represented by its Electricity Distribution Department, Kahramaa met the contractors so as to ensure they were better prepared to meet the requirements of the projects they will be bidding for.
This is intended to improve the quality of the tendering process, thereby rendering it more competitive and transparent.
“The meeting discussed various issues related to Kahramaa business, including the necessity and conditions of street re-pavement after the completion of installation works, commitment to people convenience, and road cleaning after project implementation,” said Nasser Mohammed Al Naemi, manager of the Electricity Department for Kahramaa.

He added that, over the course of the meeting, the assembled contractors were reminded of the importance of applying for Kahramaa excavation permits before the start of any work, as well as complying with the instructions provided with the permit.
They were told that any discrepancy or unconformity between the drawings and the site had to be reported, Al Naemi said in a report carried by The Pennisula.
Furthermore, contractors were invited to bid for cable-installation tenders for the transmission network.
