Greg Christofides says Arabtec Construction's experience in civil aviation work will help with the expansion project.

Arabtec Construction has won a $153m contract for the expansion of Dubai International Airport. The project includes structural works, mechanical, engineering and site works for the expansion of Terminal 2.
The work is scheduled to run for 25 months, the company said during an announcement to the Dubai bourse. This is the twelfth project awarded to Arabtec relating to civil aviation work.
Projects completed at Dubai Airport and Dubai World Central include passenger terminals, control towers, energy centres, and maintenance hangars, cargo buildings and fuel storage and distribution, said Greg Christofides, CEO of Arabtec Construction.
“These projects included renovation, expansion, civil works, structural works, MEP, water drainage and sewerage systems,” he added.

In December 2011, Arabtec Holding’s Saudi Arabian subsidiary won a major infrastructure contract in the Kingdom.
This brought the total number of contracts awarded to Arabtec Saudi Arabia to three, alongside a mandate to build 46 buildings in the Princess Noura bint Abdulrahman Univeristy in Riyadh and the construction of 5,000 villas and related infrastructure work for a residential project for Saudi Binladin.
As a whole, the company has around $400m in contract wins in the Kingdom, Riad Kamal, chairman of Arabtec Holdings, told investors at the end of the year.
