GHI Formwork has supplied over 5,000 tons of formwork to date for the Holy Mosque expansion in Makkah, MD Ekkehart Misch told CW.
"This includes custom-made steel column systems, record-breaking scaffolding systems exceeding 135m high, and custom-made slab decking formwork of over 400t/m2," he explained.
"Some of our most innovative work can be found on this, one of the world's largest and most demanding projects," said Ekkehart.
Another example of GHI's expertise in meeting challenging construction goals was supplying a tailor-made formwork solution for the Regent Emirates Pearl in Abu Dhabi.

"After the main contractor, ACC, was unable to find a standardised solution for the creation of asymmetrical V-shaped columns that would support this unique twisting structure, GHI proposed to create it from scratch," said Ekkehart. The result was about 30t of completely customosed, tailored formwork.
In 2012, the company aims to further decentralise its supply-chain process "to reduce lead times and yet be more responsive to last-minute changes in our clients' order portfolios," said Ekkehart.
