Riyadh Municipality has approved a swathe of social infrastructure projects.

Riyadh municipality will undertake projects worth $930.5m, it was revealed at a meeting of the Riyadh Provincial Council. The meeting was chaired by Riyadh Governor Prince Sattam at Al-Hukum Palace.
Topics of discussion included a flood-management system, with SR208m allocated for the completion of the existing 18 flood projects.
The Ministry of Health has been allocated SR1.63bn for eight new projects this year. These include the 500-bed Prince Sultan hospital in Riyadh, a 300-bed hospital in Al-Kharj and two 200-bed hospitals in Al-Solail and Afif, in addition to a medical tower in King Saud Medical City.

Allocations for higher education sector include SR1.7bn for a number of new projects at King Saud University, in addition to SR976m to cover the increased cost of projects approved earlier at the university. An additional SR2.64bn has been allocated to Al-Kharj University.
At Shaqra University, SR915m will be spent on a medical college, sports facilities, a mosque and women's colleges. In addition, more than SR1bn has been allocated to Majmah University.
