Hotel group Rotana announced on Monday plans to open a five-star alcohol free property in Al Ain.

The Hili Rayhaan by Rotana Hotel is slated to open in first quarter of 2013, as part of Wahat Hili Project, Al Ain's retail and hospitality complex located in Hili district.

Selim El Zyr, president & CEO of Rotana, said: "Wahat Hili Mall will be the one stop destination for visitors to Al Ain; drawing in people from all over the region to witness the splendour that is characteristic of the city.

"With 250 rooms to cater to tourists, we are proud to partner with the modern-day retail complex that is set to become a 'must see' for guests of the city."

Saeed Al Dhaheri, chairman and CEO of Wahat Hili Mall, added: "Rotana, as a name, has become synonymous with uncompromising world-class standards. This reflects the vision we have for Wahat Hili Mall."

Hili Rayhaan by Rotana will be characterised by contemporary lines merged with Emirati traditional architecture, Rotana said in a statement.

Hili Rayhaan by Rotana is the first property to open in Al Ain and Rotana's fourth in the region under the brand Rayhaan Hotels & Resorts by Rotana, which is an alcohol-free product.

"The alcohol-free concept is an entirely new proposition in the region and the market, for that matter. With research indicating this category's huge potential due to its inherent appeal in the Middle East, Rayhaan is set for incredible growth in the upcoming years," said El Zyr.
