Dubai-based developer Nakheel has said that it has completed construction of all 819 homes and landscaping at its Al Furjan community near Jebel Ali.

The development consists of terraced homes and detached villas built in clusters and arranged around 32 communal park areas and walkways that make up more than 25% of the total land area.

A new 30,000m2 community retail centre is also set to be added to the development soon, although construction timetables for this have yet to be announced.

A spokesman for the company said: "The completion of Al Furjan is a major milestone for Nakheel, and highlights our ongoing commitment to delivering to investors.

"All 819 homes are now completed and handed over to customers. We are on track to hand over 3,000 units across several of our communities - including Al Furjan - in 2013."

He added that the new community centre would complement other neighbourhood malls due to open early in 2014 at Jumeirah Park and Discovery Gardens.
