The American Society for Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) is making final preparations for the First International Conference on Energy and Indoor Environment for Hot Climates in Doha, Qatar.

The event will run from 24 to 26 February in the SIMSIMA Ballroom Al Sadd at the city’s Millenium Hotel.

It is being organised by ASHRAE, the ASHRAE Qatar Oryx Chapter and the Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI).

ASHRAE has disclosed the full programme for the conference which includes four keynote addresses, three internationally-organised special sessions, 13 conference paper sessions and 43 papers.

In all, there will be some 60 presentations on the latest trends, new ideas, research and applications of energy efficiency in high ambient temperature climates.

Hassan Sultan, EIEQC organising committee chair at ASHRAE’s Oryx chapter said: “The international support demonstrates the need for advancing the energy efficient design of buildings and systems in hot climates. This conference brings together experts to look at the synergy between energy conservation in hot climates. This first conference presents papers, keynote speeches, and internationally-organised sessions and has an emphasis on systems and equipment and applications for commercial and institutional buildings.”
