A pipeline to develop the water supply network in Al Jabal Al Akhdar, which is being constructed by Iran's SUNIR, will be complete within one-and-a-half years, according to an Iranian official.

"The construction work is 52% complete," Sattar Mahmoudi, undersecretary of the Iranian Energy Ministry, told the Times of Oman.

SUNIR, a congromerate involved in water, oil and gas fields, was awarded the $75.06mn construction contract in 2010 by Oman's Public Authority for Electricity and Water.

Mahmoudi said that the Iranian delegation will hold talks with senior Omani officials, including Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Shuhi, minister of regional municipalities and water resources, about the construction work.
