Larsen & Toubro (Oman) is reported to have picked up a contract to build a new passenger terminal at Duqm Airport in Oman

According to the Oman Observer the deal, representing package three, is valued at  RO36.27mn ($94mn).

Larsen & Toubro (Oman) apparently saw off competition from a range of firms including Galfar Engineering & Contracting and Abu Dhabi-based Mohammed Abdel Mohsen al Kharafi.

The firm's scope of work includes a modern passenger terminal with a capacity to handle 500,000 passengers per annum, a 37-metre high air traffic control tower, and an air cargo terminal equipped to handle 25,000 tonnes of cargo per annum.
