In the run-up to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and in accordance with the Qatar National Vision 2030, the Qatari government intends to spend over $70bn on infrastructure and transport as well as hotels and stadia, according to a report by Deloitte.

The recent addition of the IAAF World Championships to the Qatari sport calendar has increased further construction in the country.

The Minister of Finance has allocated $24bn to key projects, representing a 16% increase compared to 2013-14, and is Qatar's largest infrastructure budget to date, reported Zawya.

The 12th International Construction Technology & Building Materials Exhibition is set to take place at the Qatar National Convention Centre, from 4 to 7 May 2015. The show has been granted the patronage of HE Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, as well as support from various Qatari governmental bodies.

The exhibition will host hundreds of industry leaders from local and regional companies and promises to attract key buyers and professionals seeking the latest technology and equipment.

Project Qatar 2015 will be held concurrently with two specialised events: Qatar StoneTech, the 4th International Stone and Stone Technology show, and Heavy Max, the 12th International Exhibition for Heavy Machinery.

Project Qatar has expanded its business intelligence series to include eight specialised conferences that will run concurrently with Project Qatar 2015 and throughout the year: Future Interiors Qatar, Future Landscape and Public Realm Qatar, Future Drainage Networks Qatar, AcousticsTech Qatar, InsulationTech Qatar, LightingTech Qatar, HVACTech Qatar and Future BIM and Implementation Qatar.
