Gurjit Singh, the former head of development at Sorouh Real Estate who became chief development officer at Aldar Properties following the merger of the two firms, is to leave the business.

Aldar Properties announced that Mr Singh is set to depart to pursue other business interests following the promotion of Talal Al Dhiyebi from executive director of asset management to chief development officer.

Al Dhiyebi will remain in charge of asset management and will report to Aldar Properties' CEO Mohammed Al Mubarak, who was appointed to his post in July 2014.

Al Mubarak said: “Since joining the company Talal has been a driving force behind a number of Aldar’s key developments, including Yas Mall which launched in November 2014. We have a strong development pipeline and under Talal’s leadership, we will bring a number of these to market in 2015.

"I would like to thank Gurjit for his tremendous contribution to our business. Under his leadership, we have launched a number of prime developments across the retail, residential and commercial sector that have played a transformative role in the development of Abu Dhabi.”

Mr Singh joined Sorouh Real Estate in July 2007 after spells at property companies in Singapore and Malaysia.
