Generation 3D have recently completed the largest fully 3D Printed Model of its kind.

A 3m x 2m 3D replica of the entire City of Dubai was created by Generation 3D for their client Ejadah Asset Management.

The huge model is believed to be the largest ever fully 3D printed master plan.

The replic of Dubai was commissioned in order to clearly outline Ejadah's assets and their growing presence in the region.

The model was used for Display at last week’s CityScape Exhibition, however it will be used long term as a decision making tool on expansion and their current portfolio.

“We are immensely proud of the eventual outcome and thankfully so is the client” said Co-founder Dominic Wright “We worked with our client for a month working on concepts of how a model can best represent their assets throughout Dubai whilst remaining aesthetically pleasing. We both decided 3D Printing was the only way to get this done,” co-founder and Technical Director Max Reynard explained.

“We created a CAD model of Dubai using Google maps as our reference in just under 3 weeks. We then went to print over 7 days. The model is also very portable and can be assembled and taken apart in just 10 minutes as well as fitting easily into two flight cases.”

The model, which was constructed in under a month, was made on top of the range 3D systems 860pro which is the largest 3D printer of its kind and indeed the largest in the GCC.

Generation 3D have also been commissioned to make a replic of Abu Dhabi for the same client, as well as two other major projects before the end of the year.

These projects are in line with the UAE government’s stance with Mohamed Al Gergawi, the Chairman UAE National Innovation Committee stating earlier in the year their desire to become “a global hub for innovation and 3D printing”.
