The General Authority for Civil Aviation (GACA) has scheduled next month the installation of foundations of new terminals at the King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah.
The terminals would include 42 departure gates with 74 connecting gangways serving a range of aircraft types.
Also included in the plan are aircraft hangars and a new control tower plus an aircraft loading area capable of handling three million tons per year, and car parking space for 25,000 vehicles. A railway station zone, maintenance facility areas, road networks and aircraft corridors are all included in the first stage of construction also includes the railway station zone.
