Architects' fees fell by 5% in 2008, according to a new report.

Market research firm MBD Commercial said in its report that it found that fees had risen between 6% and 18% every year since 2004, but that architects were averaging about 5% less in fees at the end of 2008.

The report also stated that architects’ fees are expected to drop by a further 9% in 2009, and 3% in 2010 before starting to recover in 2011.

The report said that overall, fees would not regain the value until after 2013. Fees for private housing are expected to fall by 15% next year and a further 6% in 2010.
