The Kuwaiti government has awarded contracts for power, water and wastewater projects.
Kharafi National has won a US $41 million (KD11 million) contract for the operation and maintenance of power and water plants owned by the Electricity and Water Ministry.
The ministry has also awarded transmission and distribution contracts including Thuwainy Trading, which has won a contract for the supply and installation of high tension overhead lines.
Europe’s ABB has won two contracts for the construction of the Sulaibiya Z and Fantas Z substations. Both substations have a capacity of 300/400kV respectively.
Germany’s Siemens has been awarded the contract for the construction of five 132/11kV transformers at the Saad Al Abdullah substation.
The Public Works Ministry has also awarded the Boodai Construction Company a contract for the renovation of the country’s drainage network.
