Changes are always a good thing, although in today’s climate there may be more than a few developers and contractors who disagree.

Nonetheless, Construction Week is going through enormous changes in an effort to bring the industry a well-rounded picture of news and events in the Middle East.

Our loyal readers are already logging onto our website, constructionweekonline.com, that debuted in October. There you will find daily news coverage of the construction industry throughout the region, not to mention our “how-to” articles, news analyses, project update features and in-depth product reports.

All of that has been found in our print edition for years, but now available just a key stroke away. To complement our online coverage, we will soon launch our redesigned and expanded print edition. It will contain more than 30% more news and features with a special emphasis on industry news and events outside the UAE borders.

You will have noticed that our coverage of Saudi Arabia alone has expanded tenfold and we are planning the Saudi PMV show in the Eastern Province in March and our first Construction Week conference in Jeddah slated for April.

But with the print edition, our coverage of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman will be expanded with daily updates on the website. Our print edition will feature topical debates between leading industry personalities, more commentary by project managers, legal experts and the CEOs and CFOs of the major industry players.

The redesign was contemplated to make the magazine easier to read for busy subscribers by including quick hit statistics, global briefs and a page that recaps the best of the website.

We are sending our best reporters and photographers farther a field than ever before because that is where GCC companies are going to attract business in these difficult economic times. In other words, we are going to the same places that you are going to.

We at Construction Week recognise that if a society remains stagnant it will die. Businesses that fail to go with the flow and adapt to the changing economic climate will die. We prefer to stay ahead of the curve and give our readers the “what’s next” news and analyses. And to accomplish that we are offering a comprehensive website and a brand new magazine that gives the industry more of what it needs faster and better than our competitors.
