The Burj Dubai is believed to have reached its final height
It was believed the Burj Dubai reached its final height when Samsung Engineering erected its spire late last year. Since then, the aircraft warning beacon has been installed.
Although the operation was the final stage of construction, there seems to be some confusion as to actually how tall the tallest building in the world is.
“We have been shown the final blue-print for our installation work and it states the height to be 818 metres,” said the contractor. Developer Emaar however has officially confirmed the building has reached 780 metres. No clarification was forthcoming from Emaar.
Currently 30 contractors, 10 cranes and 3,000 workers (rising to 5,000 at its peak) are on-site. The Burj Dubai has been designed to last for 100 years.
