The fall in demand for real estate continues to hamper Dubai's construction firms
US-based architecture design firm Burt Hill has become the latest big name victim of the financial crisis, slashing 111 jobs in its Dubai office.
The firm said that it made the decision following “a strategic review of its business in view of current market conditions.”

‘This staffing adjustment has come as a result of the slowdown that the property sector as a whole is experiencing,” said Burt Hill director and member of the board of directors and executive committee Haydar Hassan.
“We firmly believe in the future growth of Dubai and will continue to move forward and contribute to the long term vision of Dubai’s construction and development sector.”
Burt Hill was keen to stress that despite the redundancies, it remains one of the largest architectural design firms in the UAE with more than 500 employees.
