A liquid natural gas delivery to the Adriatic LNG Terminal (ALNG) in Qatar marks its 500th cargo milestone.

RasGas Company Limited’s (RasGas) LNG tanker, Al Marrouna delivered the 500th cargo of LNG to Adriatic LNG Terminal (ALNG) on 21 February, 2017, The Peninsula reported.

ALNG managing director, Suresh Jagadesan, boarded the Al Marrouna to meet with the marine team and vessel crew during the celebratory event held at the terminal to mark the occasion.

Located in the northern Adriatic Sea, approximately 14 kilometres offshore from Porto Viro, near Rovigo, Italy, the Adriatic LNG Terminal is the world's first offshore gravity-based liquefied natural gas regasification terminal.

Based in Ras Laffan Industrial City, RasGas’ primary undertakings are to extract, process, liquefy, store and export LNG and its by-products from Qatar’s North Field.

On behalf of the project owners, RasGas – which has a total LNG production capacity of approximately 37 million tonnes per annum – exports to countries across Asia, Europe and the Americas.
