Emaar Misr has announced that it has made strong progress on the first phase of Marassi, its US $1.8 billion (EGP9.92 billion) residential resort, after completing 80% of structural work on two villages.
Work on the 6.2 million m2 resort, located by Sidi Abdel Rahman and Alamein beach in Cairo, Egypt, is being done round-the-clock to complete the homes by the end of 2010, with more than 300 workers currently on site. The beach clubhouse is due to open to guests this summer.
Sameh Muhtadi, chief executive officer, said: “Marassi is one of our flagship projects and we have directed all our efforts in the timely completion and handover.
“The resort's mix of residences, hotels and leisure amenities will strengthen the local economy and significantly boost the tourism sector. By this summer, the larger master plan of Marassi will have taken shape.”
