HLG wins $168m contract for Expo village project

HLG Contracting has been awarded a $168m contract by Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) for the construction of the Expo Village Parcels 10 and 11 residential towers.

According to the contract, HLG will be responsible for the construction of five 16-storey towers with a total built-up area of 155,000m2

According to Trade Arabia, the scope of work includes the setting up of concrete frames, masonry, facades, fit-out, external works, and provisional sums for mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) and façade cleaning system.

Construction will begin soon on the project and will be completed by mid-2019. 

Australia-based Cimic Group has a 45% investment in HLG.

Earlier last week, Arabtec Construction was awarded a $96m (AED353m) contract by Abu Dhabi National Media Council (Abu Dhabi NMC) to build the UAE Pavilion for Expo 2020 Dubai.
