Carrier has launched the XPower variable refrigerant flow (VRF) system and AquaForce 30XV air-cooled screw chiller at events in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The events had presentations from Carrier business leaders and engineering experts, highlighting the new products’ high energy efficiency ratings and features.

At the event, Mohammed Al Qaisi, general manager, UTS Carrier, said: “We are proud to launch these highly efficient and versatile products in the United Arab Emirates.”

The company said that the XPower VRF is ideal for the Middle East region's high ambient conditions, which can go up to 54°C. The VRF system offers a high efficiency ratio (EER) of 14.

It consists of 12 different types of indoor units with a wide capacity range, including fan coil units and air handling unit (AHU) connectors. The unit also offers flexible piping that reaches up to 1000m for a single refrigerant circuit and can connect up to 64 units indoors with automatic addressing, the company added.

Carrier’s AquaForce 30XV air-cooled screw chiller is highly versatile and energy-efficient with a range of benefits, including tiered capacity offerings from 140 to 500 tons as well as a variety of innovative features.

The AquaForce 30XV has variable frequency drives that are IP55-rated and fully air-cooled by ambient air. Carrier claimed that the chiller also utilises a next-generation rotary screw compressor, which is designed and optimised specifically for variable frequency drive operation: no slide valve, reduced pulsation, lower noise and better efficiency.

Carrier operates in the UAE through UTS Carrier and it is part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp.
