Leading cable manufacturer AEI Cables has opened a dedicated office in Dubai to help provide a tailored support service for its customers in the region.

Graeme Aittis has been appointed Middle East GM to run the operation, which is aimed at providing an increased level of support service for existing and new customers.

“We have served this region largely from the UK, but there is nothing like being on the ground to develop relationships with customers to ensure they get the very best service.

“This is an exciting time for us, and for the Middle East, as the infrastructure grows, particularly with the rapid development of the region’s economy and demand for high-quality cabling products and accessories,” commented Aittis.

“We think there are huge benefits to providing our tailored service for customers in Dubai, where we becoming increasingly well known,” said AEI Cables chief executive Jim Duffy.

Aittis has many years experience in the cabling industry, having held various posts at AEI Cables, including helping to lead business development in North America, and overseeing export activities from the UK.

The experience gained by AEI Cables in industries worldwide has resulted in one of the most comprehensive cable product ranges available.

Based at Birtley in the north east of England, the company has 170 years of cable-making experience.

Part of Paramount Communications, one of India’s largest cable manufacturers, it is a world-class provider of cabling solutions, serving industries like construction, industrial, fire protection, mining, oil and gas and power and rail.

Looking at recent focus areas in the UK, AEI Cables is highlighting the importance of developing electrical fire-performance systems that are fit-for-purpose. The issue has been heightened by the introduction of various pieces of legislation that seek to ensure only the most relevant products are installed in large buildings such as hospitals, shopping malls and airports.
