The Faculty of Engineering at the British University in Dubai (BUiD) provides both practical and research programmes to support the development needs of the Middle East.
The university offers full-time and part-time Masters programmes in Sustainable Design of the Built Environment and Systems Engineering in collaboration with the Welsh School of Architecture in Cardiff and The University of Manchester.
“Essentially, BUiD was the region’s first research-based postgraduate university and they offer specialised MSc programmes across several fields of academia. You didn't mention The ETSAM school of architecure in Madrid. Kenneth Frampton, the greatest architecture critic in the 20th century said it was probably the best architecture school in th world. As a proof you can see a lot of spanish architects thar are now among the best, and almost all of them studied in the ETSAM, and are actually teachers there. (Tu?on y Mansilla, Alberto Campo, Juan Navarro Baldeweg, Moneo, all are or were teachers there)

I was planning to start a Masters in Architecture. I did some research and checked the websites of all programs in this article. I focused on the program content, resources available and the qualifications of the faculty delivering the programs. I do not understand how a university with no faculty specialized in architecture can come on top of the list of the "World Best Universities in Architecture". Can you please explain so that I can take an informed decision and select a top university in my area?

Hmmm this article appears completely biased to UAE, UK and commonwealth schools, apart from 1 in the US and 1 in Japan. If you really want to know what the world's best architecture universities are I suggest you do your own research. This article appears to be entirely self-serving without providing a real analysis as to what makes a school etc...again completely disapointing.

I would like to know the criteria you used to select these universities as the 'World Best in Architecture' and how you sorted those selected university in your list. Apparently they are not sorted alphabetically. So do you think that the British University in Dubai ranks higher than the American University of Sharjah which comes in the middle of your list? Or higher than the UAE University which is not even on your list? Does it rank higher than the Massachusetts Institute of Technology which comes at the end of your list? Does it rank higher than any of the really high ranking universities in the world which do not appear on your list?

Post graduate Architectural programs
You neglected to mention the newly accredited MSc program in Ajman University that will commence in the next academic year. It is the only postgraduate program in Architecture in the UAE. Both the AUS and the BUiD offer multidisciplinary programs on subjects that are not really architectural but on Urban Planning and the Built Environment respectively. The Ajman one will be an MSc in rchitecture and Urban Studies.
