Saudi Aramco participated in the first Saudi Electricity Forum (SEF), organised by the Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources (MEIM) in Riyadh, from 10 to 12, October, 2017.

Talking about the forum, Eng. Abdulkarim Al-Ghamdi, executive director of Power Systems at Saudi Aramco, said: “Saudi Aramco’s participation in the forum is an important enabler of the company’s greater responsibility to energy sustainability for the Kingdom.

"Our participation demonstrates our commitment and contributions for the efforts to optimize the fuel mix and maximize profitability to the company and the Kingdom. We are also working constantly on initiatives aiming to reduce O&M cost, enhance efficiency, and maximise sustainability.”

According to Saudi Gazette, the company is significantly expanding its applications of renewables in several remote locations to power off-grid gas and oil well facilities, bulk plants and offices which is driven mainly by economics and environment.

Saudi Aramco is also strategically pursuing renewable investment at utility-scale to diversify the company portfolio and support the Kingdom’s goal to reach 9,500MW of renewable capacity by year 2023.
