Voltas limited won the Plumbing Project of the Year award for the Regent Emirates Pearl Hotel-Grand Hyatt in Abu Dhabi.

The MEP scope of this project included supply, installation, testing and commissioning of HVAC systems, kitchen ventilation system, smoke management system, staircase, car park, cold water supply system with filtration, hot water system with dedicated boilers, among other things.

The plumbing and drainage work consisted of centralised cold and hot water distribution network.

Judge noted that the “project stood out for re-using and re-cycling site water to minimize overall potable water consumption. Using AC condensate in cooling towers is a unique feature and quite smart”.

Suresh Kumar, general manager for projects and corporate business development, International Operations Business Group at Voltas Limited, said: "Voltas has been carrying out this Grand Hyatt project for the last six years.

"We’re quite proud of this project because it’s unique in nature. It’s got a twist in architecture, which is very rare for any kind of building. And we are quite happy that we have won the Plumbing Project of the Year, for the plumbing is the biggest challenge that we faced in that project.”
