Abu Dhabi’s Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities (DPM) today announced the launch of its new registration system for engineers in the capital.

The initiative will ensure that all engineers living and working in the emirate will be registered through an interactive website and receive official cards once registration is approved by the authority.

In line with the Abu Dhabi Plan, the integrated digital system ensures mutual recognition of all qualifications listed for every engineer.

This streamlined process will provide the DPM with a pool of certified engineers permitted to work across the emirate.

The aim is to regulate standards, principles and best practice in the profession, and ensure only registered engineers with approved academic qualifications are assigned the relevant work.

Falah Al Ahbabi, chairman of the Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities, said: “While attracting the best local, regional and international expertise in all fields, this new system also demonstrates the ongoing collaborative efforts of the Abu Dhabi Government and DPM to ensure it continues to raise the bar in urban planning and construction on a global level.

“When engineers are listed on the new system, it becomes a badge of professionalism and formal recognition of their qualifications. It also provides the Emirate with a tool that connects talent to opportunities, ensuring we continue to shape a sustainable future for Abu Dhabi.”

Engineers must present a valid ID card and a bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent to register.

They will also be required to submit an employment card issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation or valid investor card if the employee is working in the private sector.

The registration system integrates all disciplines of Engineering, including Architectural, Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.

Engineers can go to https://eservices.adm.gov.ae/engineers/public/secure/login to register.
