Abu Dhabi’s NPCC scoops $327m India EPC contract

India’s ONGC has awarded a $327m (AED1.2bn) engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract to the National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC).

The contract includes the survey, design, engineering, procurement, fabrication, transportation, installation, and commissioning of five well platforms, and associated pipelines and cables, at ONGC’s Ratna field, located on the west coast of India.

Commenting on the contract award, Hussain Al Nowais, chairman of NPCC, said: "This contract is an endorsement of NPCC’s international capabilities. I am proud of NPCC’s relationship with ONGC, [which] is a testament to the good relations and economic cooperation between the UAE and India."

Meanwhile, Aqeel A Madhi, vice chairman and managing director, added: "We have had a long association with ONGC. We have been working on offshore EPC projects for ONGC for over 35 years, and are proud of our association with ONGC."

Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, NPCC is owned by Senaat, which represents the government of Abu Dhabi, and Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC).
