Dhabi Contracting is expanding its worker accommodation facilities in the UAE so it can house up to 7,500 more workers, according to Bishoy Edward.

The company's chief operating officer (COO) told Construction Week that the company, which has $1.6bn (AED6bn) worth of ongoing projects in the UAE, is building two labour camps, one in Abu Dhabi and another in Dubai.

The Dubai labour camp, located near Al Maktoum International Airport, will reportedly be able to accommodate 2,500 workers, while the Abu Dhabi facility will have a capacity of 5,000.

The labour camp projects are part of the company's strategy for 2020, as is its planned seven-star hotel in Ruwais, Edward explained, revealing that the hotel will feature water chalets.
