Qatar's first-ever conference on district cooling was declared a great success by participants and invitees alike.

Qatar’s first-ever conference on district cooling saw the involvement of four of the industry’s leaders, and was declared a great success by participants and invitees alike.

The major players were Qatar District Cooling Company (Qatar Cool), Cool Tech Energy Water Treatment Company (CoolTech), Installation Integrity Company (I2I), Marinspect Refrigeration and Environment Services Company (Marinspect).

Qatar Cool GM Fayad Al Khatib expressed his hope that the event would become an established platform for the country’s burgeoning district cooling industry. “At Qatar Cool we believe that, whether we are a utility provider or a utility consumer, we all deal with similar, if not the same, matters. However, we have proven that the benefits are more rewarding if we deal with them jointly.”

I2I area manager Gerry McGeoch discussed the installation integrity process, and his company’s role as an independent technical provider. Marinspect business development manager Ray Hunter commented: “The current global focus on preserving and retaining energy is paramount, and demonstrates the importance of the optimal operation of HVAC systems. We are all committed to achieving this goal at highest efficiency and least cost.”
