Friendly flooring

The newest product to be introduced in the region by environmentally-friendly flooring specialist, L.M. Scofield Company, is the Scofield Formula One Lithium Densifier & Finish Coat System.

Making ground and polished concrete floors low VOC, low maintenance and environmentally friendly, the system was engineered to deliver attractive, durable ground and polished architectural concrete floors where deeper penetration, increased surface hardness and faster shine development are desired. Its many benefits include increased abrasion resistance, high compressive strength, rapid shine development,
and non-dusting.

Scofield Formula One Lithium Densifier produces a rapid chemical reaction which penetrates and densifies the upper layer of the concrete surface much quicker than sodium silicate or potassium silicate formulas. It offers a durable surface that is nontoxic and environmentally sound. Once treated, the surface only requires periodic cleaning with a neutral or alkaline cleaner and water. Hydroturf is the official distributor and installer of all Scofield products in the region.

New offering

Andy Thornton has introduced the Avant Collection as part of its new 2009 Outdoor Furniture brochure.

Avant combines satin stainless steel frames with teak seats, backs and arms to create a striking contemporary design. The luxurious satin stainless steel is complemented by the durable, highly water resistant teak. Chairs also incorporate gentle stylish curves for added comfort and impact. The Avant collection is available in an array of combinations, including stacking armchair (pictured top), folding side chair and armchair, along with rectangular, pedestal and drinks tables and two and three seat benches.

In a separate development, the company’s Salerno chairs (pictured bottom) recently made their debut at The Old Thatched Cottage Bar & Restaurant in the UK seaside resort of Weston-
super-Mare. The grade 2 listed property, dating from the 18th century, now features the woven chairs and contrasting aluminum tables, all supplied by Andy Thornton. The furniture was carefully selected for its versatility as well as its aesthetic value. The chairs are manufactured in a hard-wearing dark brown plastic and are stackable when not in use. Likewise, the tables will fold to enable storage at night and out of season.

What’s cooking

Parasol Garden Furniture has been appointed as the UAE dealer for Firestone Barbeques from the US. The award-winning range of barbeques is suitable for anyone, ranging from the novice to the experienced cook.

The barbeques come complete with the cook number system, which has ten exact settings, while the exclusive Air Rotisserie system ensures that air is uniformly distributed in the baking chamber to ensure even cooking.

Rainbow scheme

Kettal has launched its ‘Kettalize it’ scheme, allowing customers to create their own pieces of furniture by choosing from a wide range of colour combinations and mixing and matching at will. Customers can also play around with textiles and paint colours, while the tops of accompanying tables can be painted in a range of colours. In total, there are 21 furniture paint colours, 21 table glass paint colours, 25 fabrics and 19 porotex  cushion colours to choose from.

Plana sailing

Lucidi Pevere Studio has designed the Plana Chair for Kristalia. The chair is stackable, available in various colours, and suitable for outdoor use. It also marks the first time that Kristalia is using injection moulded, glass-reinforced, polypropylene technology.
