Structured cabling contract for Princess Tower

Belconn has clinched a major cabling contract with the creators of the world’s tallest residential tower in Dubai.

The Princess Tower, also known as Al Ameera Tower, is expected to be completed later this year. It will stand more than 400m tall and have 101 floors of apartments – an increase from the originally-planned 90 floors.

The company’s structured cabling arm will provide high-speed voice and data solutions to the tower, which it claims will supplement the high-quality technological fittings.

All the networking equipment will be fully Belconn branded, under the supervision of leading telecoms company Du. Belconn’s Cat6 Sapphire solution won the bidding process due to its high quality and ease of installation, supported by the company’s growing international reputation in the networking sector, it said.

Tameer Holdings’ Princess Tower is one of several freehold towers in Dubai Marina, opposite to Jumeirah Lake Towers. It covers 37,410 square feet of space and includes 750 luxury residential apartments, including double-, triple- and four-bedroom units, apart from duplex villas and penthouses.

“Despite the difficulties experienced by the real estate and construction sectors due to the current economic climate, in addition to increased competition by contractors, construction on the Princess Tower is progressing as scheduled,” affirmed Tameer Dubai MD Abdul Hamid Moukayed.
