Smart Police Station coming to Majid Al Futtaim's Tilal Al Ghaf in Dubai

Majid Al Futtaim has inked an agreement with Dubai Police to develop a Smart Police Station at Tilal Al Ghaf, the UAE property giant’s flagship Dubai community near Sports City.

According to a statement, the memorandum of understanding (MOU) will see both parties “collaborate in areas that empower, deliver and promote an efficient, seamless, safe, and impactful city experience for residents”.

The MoU was signed at a ceremony in Dubai by Maj Gen Muhammad Saeed Al Marri, assistant commandant for community happiness and equipment at Dubai Police, and Hawazen Esber, chief executive officer of communities at Majid Al Futtaim.

Dubai Police opened the first Smart Police Station in 2017, in line with its Smart Plan to provide completely virtual access for the public to police services by 2030. HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, inaugurated the station.

Speaking on this latest Smart Police Station addition, Dubai Police’s Al Marri, said: “Smart Police Stations are part of our vision to support happiness in Dubai, improving access to police services for members of the public.

“It will provide members of the public with 24-hour access to police services in a neighbourhood setting, where the construction of a conventional police station would not be possible.”

Esber added the Smart Police Station “is in line with the community’s innovative 360-degree plan to promote happiness and public safety by using smart technology”.

The news comes five months after retail heavyweight Majid Al Futtaim unveiled the $3.8bn mixed-use community, located near Dubai Sports City, set to be developed in phases of 10 years to eventually feature 6,500 freehold apartments, townhouses, bungalows, and luxury villas when it completes in 2027.
