Depa Interiors has been crowned Sub-Contractor of the Year at the Construction Week Awards 2018, held at Dubai's five-star JW Marriott Marquis hotel.

The interior design contractor, a business unit of Depa Group, was praised by judges for effectively expanding its business across the GCC, where it has won work on exclusive projects including the Burj Al Arab and Grand Hyatt Dubai.

It rounds off a successful year after Depa Group was named Fit-out Firm of the Year award at this year's Commercial Interior Design (CID) Awards, organised by Construction Week's sister title Commercial Interior Design.

Al Shirawi Contracting Company was named Construction Week's Highly Commended Sub-Contractor. The business received high praise for its steady growth in the UAE, which has seen it win work with ALEC and Arabtec Construction.

Alongside Depa and Al Shirawi, finalists shortlisted for year's Sub-Contractor of the Year included ALEC Fitout, Efeco, Hard Precast Building Systems, and Voltas.

Construction Week Awards 2018 were supported by Gold Sponsors ALEC, ASGC, Arabtec, and Al Naboodah; Silver Sponsors Future Metro, Unimix, and WME Consultants; Category Sponsors Construction Computer Software, Acrow, JLG, and Ramboll; returning Social Media Partner, WSP; Content Partner UGC Factory Stackla; and Post-Event Celebration Sponsor, Bam International.
