Emaar Properties has announced that work on the interiors of its flagship project, the Burj Dubai, as well as exterior cladding is progressing well.
The world’s tallest tower, currently over 800m high, is due to be completed by September.
“Burj Dubai is a once in a lifetime architectural accomplishment and is the Arab world’s tribute to the art and science of modern engineering and design,” said Emaar Properties chairman Mohamed Alabbar.
The interior design was led by award-winning designer Nada Andric of Chicago-based Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP.
Glass, stainless steel and polished dark stones, feature in the Burj Dubai’s interior as well as Silver Travertine flooring, Venetian stucco walls, handmade rugs and stone flooring.

“Burj Dubai’s interiors are mindful of the building’s prominent international address and its true purpose as home to a number of people, while being inspired by the fascinating local culture and the challenge of enhancing the value of a global landmark,” said Andric.
The tower is at the centre of the Downtown Burj Dubai development, which features the world’s first Armani Hotel Dubai and Armani Residences, as well as the Dubai Mall and The Dubai Fountain.
Burj Dubai is already the world's tallest structure surpassing the 628.8m tall KVLY-TV mast in North Dakota, the US. It is taller than Taipei 101 in Taiwan, at 508m and the CN Tower, at 553.33m.
Designed by SOM, Burj Dubai is constructed by South Korea’s Samsung Corporation and Turner Construction International is the project and construction manager.
