Tiger Woods Dubai completes grassing on 3 holes

The Tiger Woods Dubai, a member of Tatweer Dubai, today announced the completion of grassing on three holes on Al Ruwaya Golf Course – the world’s first golf course created by the champion golfer Tiger Woods.
Some 1372m of grass from Atlanta, in the United States, has been laid on holes 4 (par 4), 5 (par 5) and 6 (par 4) at the course.
“Having announced the commencement of grassing at the start of February, we are very proud to have reached this significant milestone which bears testament to the hard work and commitment of our contractors and consultants,” said Abdulla Al Gurg, project director, The Tiger Woods Dubai.
”The Tiger Woods Dubai continues to make major strides toward completion of all golfing components at the development and we look forward to welcoming our first members in the near future”.
To date 2243 trees have been planted on the golf course and a further 6000 are in the nursery. Rough shaping is complete on all 18 holes, 10 of which have been finely shaped. Construction is also complete on the main stream and one of the lakes.
Work has also commenced on the 132kV electrical substation to be managed by Tatweer’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure, and the Real Estate and Zoning team. More than 6500 tonnes of concrete and 460 tonnes of steel have been used to raise the structure. All major equipment for the substation is scheduled to be installed shortly.
