CW Qatar conference begins

Leading decision-makers and industry professionals met today for the Construction Week Qatar Briefing 2009, held in Doha.

Steven W Miller, managing director of FXFowle, began the event by welcoming delegates. His speech was followed by a presentation on the WLS process by Burt, Hill principal Ivar Krasinski.

Other speakers include Brian Meilleur, president and COO of Al Wa’ab City, Phillippe Dessoy, Besix general manager, and Dalal Farhad, consultant for the Arab Engineering Bureau.

The Construction Week Qatar Briefing 2009 is the first event of its kind, organised by ITP Publishing, to be held in the country.

Topics due for discussion include an update and forecast on Qatar’s real estate market, investment opportunities in the hospitality sector, and creating architecture in line with national heritage as well as identifying partners, agents and distributors.

The conference, sponsored by Burt Hill, is being held at the Grand Hyatt Doha.
