Over 220 of the industry’s great and good attended the second facilities management Middle East Awards ceremony at the Westin, Dubai, late last month, to celebrate corporate and individual achievements across the Middle East.
The word ‘awards’ and term ‘silly season’ seem, for some reason, to go hand-in-hand in some people’s vocabulary, along with a certain dismissive tone.
And that’s fine, as no doubt they’ve experienced many financially weighted award presentations in their time. Except, to adopt such awards’ myopia severely restricts the capacity to believe and participate in the community’s coming together in celebration of outstanding achievement, especiallty in the current economic climate.
So pha! to the sceptics, they should’ve come to the fmME awards. What a night I’m sure you’ll agree. It’s always an honour to gather the industry you serve under one roof and recognise its contribution to the world in which we live.
And I have to thank my judging panel for that. The level of experience on the ground, knowledge and expertise means award winners can truly take great pride in their achievements and the recognition of their peers. A big thanks then to the judges whose credentials you can read about below.
The following is dedicated to the award winners – have a read and if you weren’t a winner this year, this should be motivation for next year. See you then and good luck.
