Drake & Scull International (DSI) is to hold a recruitment open day on Saturday June 13 to fill 300 vacant positions on its Saudi Arabia projects.

The firm is hoping to fill current and future vacancies in its mechanical, electrical and plumbing; civil; and infrastructure, water and power business streamlines.

Available positions include construction managers, project managers, commercial managers, design managers, quantity surveyors, site engineers, project engineers, design engineers, QA/QC engineers, draughtsmen, HSE officers and support staff.

The event will be held at DSI’s offices in Dubai Investment Park, on Saturday June 13, from 9.00am to 5.00pm.

“DSI is rapidly expanding throughout the region, the firm’s chief corporate affairs officer Zeina Tabari said. “This open day will be a good opportunity for qualified people to explore opportunities within the company.”

The company’s aggressive growth strategy has seen DSI take on new projects throughout the Mena region. It is currently working on projects in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Sudan and Bahrain, with views to expand into Libya and Jordan.

Gulf Technical Construction Company (GTCC) is the construction contracting arm of DSI. The firm is looking to employ around 2000 staff in total this year to fuel growth plans primarily in Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia.

“A lot of people who have lost their jobs so there are more people out there,” said GTCC executive director Saleh Muradweij.

“It is an opportunity for us to look into a larger pool of talent than previously. We are adding new people for the projects that we have been awarded inside the UAE and outside.”

Muradweij said the firm was getting invitations to retender for projects that were originally awarded towards the end of last year. “Now they have been redesigned and retendered again,” he said.

The firm has already held two open days to recruit for the UAE. This is its first such event to fill its vacancies in Saudi Arabia.

A list of some of the position that are to be filled on Saturday can be found on DSI’s website at www.drakescull.com

MG It is simply because they are hiring, they want people to know about it, and I dare say that to the thousands who unfortunately lost their jobs earlier this year, it is valuable information. Nothing wrong with rare goood news, and take it from me as the author of the article, there is no other - and never would there be any other - motive. Best of luck to everyone on Saturday.
