Drake & Scull Saudi Arabia (DSI KSA) has been awarded the SR540 million MEP contract for Cayan’s Lamar Towers in Jeddah, a mixed-use development comprising retail, commercial and residential components.

It is set to be the largest development in Jeddah to date. Arabtec announced on 11 June that it had clinched the SR2 billion construction contract, which was expected to take three years.

As part of the contract, DSI KSA is responsible for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the complete MEP works.

This comprises air-conditioning, ventilation, plumbing and drainage, the building management system, fire-fighting, power, telephone and data, the fire alarm system, intercom system, central emergency lighting, CCTV, access control security systems, the PA/BGM system and the lighting control system.

DSI KSA GM Walid Al Aker said the company has developed a strong reputation that is enabling it to win the most prestigious and sought-after projects in the Kingdom.

“With our expertise and experience gained over the last few years, we are well-equipped to take on any large project that comes our way, and as such we have become the contractor of choice for many of the country’s developers, and have a very strong order book to see us into the future,” he said.

DSI KSA employs over 1,200 people and at present is working on six different projects totalling SR900 million, excluding Lamar. DSI KSA is a partnership between Drake & Scull Group and the Al Zamil Group.
