Damac says the work on the Piazza, part of Qatar's Lusail Development, will begin shortly.
Work will shortly begin on the Piazza development in Lusail’s Fox Hills project in Qatar, due to two contracts being awarded by Dubai developer Damac Properties.
The enabling works deal was won by Construction Technologies, which will carry out fencing, ground clearance, rock excavation, dewatering and shoring work.
Damac also appointed the ERGA Group as its lead consultant on the Piazza project. The firm will oversee the entire development, including the main contractor, which will be announced later this year.
The construction work is expected to be completed in 2011.
“This is a significant day for Damac Properties as work commences on site at our Piazza development,” said Damac chairman Hussein Sajwani.
“There are always many important procedures and tasks which need to be completed behind the scenes before people see a physical presence on site but we understand that it is always important for customers to see progress of this nature,” Sajwani added.
