Glasstech Industries expects to award the contract for its new factory in October.
A new glass-processing factory is to be built in Bahrain’s International Investment Park (BIIP) by Glasstech Industries, it was revealed yesterday.
The plant will have an annual output of one million metres of glass, including tempered, laminated, insulated, sandblasted and silk screen printed.
The announcement came following a meeting between Industry and Commerce Minister Dr Hassan Fakhro and Glasstech board member Fawaz Darwish Al Mannai.
Al Mannai told the Gulf Daily News that the firm had already signed contracts with leading international manufacturers for the supply of production lines.
He added that the construction contract for the factory will be awarded in October and they expect to be producing for the Middle Eastern market by the end of 2010.
Al Mannai is reported to have yesterday signed a lease for 21,500 square-metre plot at BIIP in Hidd.
Fahro said a total of 11 companies have signed leases this year to establish manufacturing plants within the park.
