Seven Tides wants to be the first company to develop its holding on The World.
Dubai developer Seven Tides is planning to be the first company to develop its holdings on Nakheel’s gigantic The World project.
In an interview with The National newspaper, a senior official said that the firm hoped to begin building in the next six months on the 10 islands it owns in the ‘South America’ section of the archipelago.
“We’re hoping to be the first group of islands to commercially start developing,” said Michael Scully, the managing director of the hospitality division of Seven Tides.
“We have got a number of investors who are looking at partnering us on The World islands,” he added.
Scully added that Seven Tides was planning to build chalets on its islands, which would be linked via an eight-minute boat journey from its Royal Amwaj resort on the Palm Jumeirah.
Reclamation work at The World has finished, although a substantial number of islands have not yet been bought.
