Developer Damac has finished structural work on its three-tower Lago Vista project in Dubai’s International Media Production Zone (IMPZ) and says the complex will be ready to hand over by the end of the year.

Lago Vista consists of two 25-storey and one 28-storey towers, featuring studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments.

"It is very pleasing to see that we are now entering the final construction stage at Lago Vista and the finishing work inside will then be the main focus for the contractors as we look to complete this building during the early part of next year," said Peter Riddoch, CEO of Damac Properties.

Damac has also committed to tendering the main contract for third IMPZ project – Lakeside – by the end of this year. It handed over The Crescent earlier in 2009.

Lakeside
The construction update photographs Damac posts on their website for Lakeside are the same each month - taken from a different angle. There has been no progress to date and the confidence in getting a realistic target date for completion or even start is not forthcoming from Damac. Several promises had been made but these were all they were promises. We have honoured the payments to Damac but progress and update on this construction has been disappointing. The comments regarding the services and infrastructure issues also do not help.

Lago Vista
While DAMAC's progress in IMPZ sounds impressive, the ostensibly 'handed over' The Crescent continues to be plagued by services and infrastructure problems due to slipshod build quality. This does not bode well for Lago Vista and Lakeside. Besides, when are they going to fill up the titular lake? It's getting depressing staring at a big hole in the ground.
